OUR STORY

The San Francisco Brown Bombers was started in September of 1999 at the request of many community stakeholders, providing San Francisco's youth with a Football & Cheer program that teaches fundamentals in these areas, as well as offer a fun and safe environment, conductive to learning and sharing. Over the years, we have developed into multi faceted community based organization that serves youth from every corner of the city faithfully and consistently since 1999. As an anchor in the Southeast sector of San Francisco better known as Bayview – Hunter’s Point, we are firmly cemented in the legacy of San Francisco – the greatest city in the world!

Despite our brief history, we have had incredible success and achieved in ways like no other prior San Francisco team has in over 45 years. During our first season, we earned First Team National Scholastic, All-American honors, beating out over 300,000 students, nationwide.

During the second season, our Midgets football team was crowned Division II champions of the Redwood Empire Jr. Football Conference with a regular season record of 7 wins and only 1 loss! They also set numerous REJFC scoring and defensive records and also became the first team from REJFC to win the Pacific Northwest Regional Championship, which includes Oregon, Nevada, Idaho, Washington and Alaska, earning a spot in the Pop Warner National "Super Bowl" Championship game.

Our Pee Wees dance team advanced to Orlando to participate in the Cheer & Dance Championships, finishing strong as the 3rd best Pee Wee dance team, nationwide!

To produce academic All-Americans and reach the national title game, all inside of three years, accomplishing such feats will be a milestone that will forever belong to the San Francisco Brown Bombers. These are not only accomplishments for our organization, but also for the youth of San Francisco.

In whole, we have over 100 years of Football & Cheer coaching experience to share with the youth of San Francisco. To be a part of the San Francisco Brown Bombers, please contact us at (415) 820-1516, or via e-mail at info@sfbrownbombers.com

"Our goal is to teach the fundamentals of football and cheer, while stressing the importance of academic achievement in an environment conductive to learning and sharing. We work to instill the values of teamwork, pride, discipline, leadership and good sportsmanship in all of our participants."
THE BOMBER WAY

For 25 years, we have served at-risk youth and underserved communities, committed to improving family well-being. Our Family-Centered Approach fosters a loving, trusting, and safe environment. Cultural responsiveness is crucial, respecting diverse needs and building trust. Gender-responsive strategies are prioritized. We also engage extensively with the community, forming partnerships to connect families with external resources, and creating a robust support network. In summary, our extensive experience and culturally and gender-responsive approaches, coupled with community engagement, make our program well-suited to the unique needs of our target population, significantly amplifying our impact.

Our programs model prioritizes structured sports and youth empowerment programs while emphasizing skill development within a positive environment. We implement a comprehensive curriculum to achieve our objectives of promoting physical fitness, instilling healthy eating habits, and fostering exercise routines. Our approach is designed for diverse learning styles and ensures opportunities for skill-building. The curriculum focus is on incremental learning. It introduces skills in manageable steps. The curriculum content is age-appropriate, supporting the developmental stage of participants. We acknowledge that a one-size-fits-all model doesn't work, particularly in a diverse population. By introducing content in measured increments, we allow for a gradual progression toward skill mastery. This approach acknowledges the varying levels of experience and ability of participants. Out curriculum is structured to be inclusive, accommodating a wide range of abilities, learning styles, and physical fitness levels.  Participants start at a level that matches their abilities and gradually advance as they master each skill. This approach offers structured opportunities for growth and success, boosting their confidence and motivation.  We recognize that some youth may have unique learning styles or specific needs. Our instructors are trained to provide individualized support to ensure that everyone can participate and succeed. Our program model is designed to be inclusive, respecting the cultural, linguistic, and physical diversity of the youth we serve. Our program model is a structured yet flexible framework for skill-building. We believe that this approach is essential for delivering effective and impactful programs.

We provide physical education and nutritional based content that is both engaging to help foster a sense of achievement as they progress. We strive to identify and accommodate participants with special needs, including physical, emotional, and learning disabilities, in both a proactive and supportive way. Our organization’s approach to ensuring the wellness of participants is comprehensive, community-focused, and supported by a robust network of partnerships with various organizations.

Our organization’s community-based approach integrates social and emotional learning (SEL) principles and practices through youth development that significantly impact children, youth and families we serve. Our organization offers structured football, cheer, basketball programs and performing arts for boys and girls, emphasizing specific skill-building goals. We provide opportunities for youth to master skills progressively.
